ENGINEERED GARMENTS Presents Fall/Winter 2022 Lookbook

The New York label goes all-in on fisherman garb and deep sea-blue palettes for the new season

The inspiration for the FW22 collection from Engineered Garments was Robert Eggers' movie "The Lighthouse" - a dark horror exploring the troubled relationship between two lighthouse keepers trapped at their post on an isolated rock.

Below are some of the key looks from the collection.

Blacks, navys, and gray tones dominate, creating a dark and brooding atmosphere, but it's not all doom and gloom - designer Daiki Suzuki is playful as ever, with light and shadow clearly being explored to great effect. The collection comes together with lots of great technical details, interspersed with colorful patterned prints and the label's typical workwear aesthetic.

The most eye-catching pieces are rugged, uniform-based pieces, such as the black fireman's coat with metal buckle closures. We see various overalls in denim and heavy cotton too, which like the racing suits from the previous SS22 collection, work well when layered with the liners, waistcoats, and the other heavy outer pieces.

The layering feels warm and solid but also light, as padded nylon and boa fleece is used to add some functional and modern tech to the otherwise quite weighty natural fabrics used elsewhere.

The boa fleece and nylon panelled liner coat is one of our favourite pieces from the collection. Available in deep blue and black colorways, its unique contrasting glossy panels and warm fleecy textures make it one of the standout pieces.

For accessories, the label sticks to its perrenial offerings of bucket hats, wool beanies, and berets - and for this collection they come together perfectly with the practical and well-thought out layering.

And for footwear, Engineered Garments have collaborated again with iconic brands Paraboot and KEEN. Details of these items will be annouced soon.

Stay tuned over the coming weeks for details on release dates/stockists.
