BLK by White Mountaineering x sulvam GORE-TEX Infinium
Ex-Yohji designer Teppei Fujita designs two new pieces for the outdoor label's BLK line
A collaboration between White Mountaineering's exclusive BLK (Black Layer Knowledge) line and label sulvam will be released on Saturday, March 5 2022 at White Mountaineering's two Tokyo stores.
sulvam's creative director Fujita began his career in fashion working as a pattern maker for Yohji Yamamoto before going on to launch the label in 2013. The brand’s distinctive debut collection earned Fujita the prestigious Tokyo Fashion Award for its playfully deconstructed and reimagined take on traditional men’s ready-to-wear.
In this collaboration, sulvam's unique pattern cutting and White Engineering's BLK technology combine a tailored city jacket and pants that use the GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ 3L fabric, prized for its excellent wind resistance breathability, and soft texture.
The single-breasted tailored jacket is made with a longer length, thinner sleeves, and a larger lapel than the BLK lapel jackets that we saw in previous seasons. The Jersey Lapel Jacket is set to retail in Japan for ¥74,000 ($640 USD).
The Tech Jogger Pants are based on an relaxed jogger pant silhouette and will retail for ¥40,700 ($350 USD).
Initially the two pieces will be released on Saturday, March 5 2022 at White Mountaineering's two Tokyo stores, with Barneys New York scheduled for a release around Friday, March 18.
